| One of our dogs, Rosie, had been getting progressively sicker over the past couple of months. She had diabetes, was losing weight, and went blind in the last week. So we made a tough choice and put her to sleep. Clearly, this isn't a good year for pets in my family.
Fuck.

| Lately, I have been thinking about the concept of being a "good person". What do we believe makes a person good? I feel like the prerequisites to being considered good are so vague these days. It's peculiar how we think of good and evil as polar opposites; yet we make up these shades of grey to justify our actions, and come out looking better than we have any right to be.
It's readily apparent to Bible scholars that darkness and light are mutually exclusive. From the creation account right up to the teachings of Christ, it is made abundantly clear that where light shines, darkness has been extinguished. God in His righteousness has illustrated that He and the principles which He has ordained are of light. Ergo, anything in conflict with God must be of darkness, or the absence of light.
This is more or less nebulous. I plan on coming back to edit this so it is a bit more presentable, and not so off the wall.
